The BTS (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) is a state-recognized two-year diploma, supervised by the Ministry of Research and Higher Education (Ministère de la Recherche et de l’Enseignement supérieur), and defined by the Law of July 21, 2023 (loi du 21 juillet 2023), on the organization of higher education.
LAM’s BTS courses align with the Bologna Process to meet the training objectives of the Brevet de Technicien Supérieur.
Studies for the Brevet de Technicien Supérieur (BTS) are organized over a maximum period of two years (4 semesters) and require the completion of a full program of 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits.
The ECTS is based on the principle that the workload of a full-time student during an academic year corresponds to 60 credits. One credit represents between 25 and 30 hours of work. The student’s workload includes the time required to participate in all educational activities, such as:
- attending courses,
- taking part in seminars,
- completing internships,
- studying independently outside class hours,
- preparing projects,
- preparing for and sitting examinations,
- etc.
CTS credits are awarded only after the full completion of the required work and following the appropriate assessment of the learning outcomes. These outcomes correspond to a set of competencies that define what the student will know, understand, or be able to do after completing the course, regardless of its duration.
